Thank You Note From Gary Wysocky

I am honored to receive such a strong outpouring of support from the community in Tuesday’s election, especially as a first time candidate. This campaign was quite a journey and could not have been successful without help from the amazing volunteers: from former SSU students, old friends from afar, new friends in town and to two very special people, my assistant Jo Anne Cohn, never complaining; always ready to do whatever it took, and to my daughter Jessica, who’s had to share my time with the campaign. We were successful because of your efforts.

A special thanks to my neighbors, those that brought me meals when you saw me dragging, those who sent me to see David Byrne when you saw I needed a break, and those of you that have endured our barking dog, you are all wonderful and reaffirm why this has become my hometown.

Over the last year, I have personally knocked on more than 10,000 doors in all four quadrants of the city and have talked with thousands of Santa Rosa residents. I have listened to your concerns regarding the economy, the environment, transportation, and gang activity in Santa Rosa. I have heard your strong desire for change in our city; to have a city council majority that not only listens to your input, but works with you to find a resolution to your issues.

As a City Council member, I look forward to providing new leadership and helping set a new direction for the City Council. I will work hard to fix the City's budget imbalance, increase neighborhood input, make Santa Rosa a national model for alternative transportation, and protect our environment.

This is a wonderful city, with amazing people. There are tremendous challenges that face us, some requiring change, and some requiring sacrifice. No different than our nation as a whole. But together we can bring about the change that is needed to make Santa Rosa an even better place to live.

Thank you again for your support.
